My mom, dad, Madison & Alana all met us in Denton for the recital on Sunday (the boys stayed at home with a sitter). Amazingly, my parents really look forward to her recital every year. I say “amazingly” because there are few who actually are excited about sitting through 2 1/2 hours of amateur ballet, but this studio is exceptional. The girls are all so well trained, and the dances really are beautiful and “classy.” (Click here for last year’s explanation of why she is here and why we love it so much.) Seeing Meghan’s improvement from year to year is so neat. She is the youngest in her class, but (no bias!) we think she’s one of the best. I think she’s finally forgiven us for pulling her out of the other studio, and she is very motivated to work hard now because her teacher told her she should be ready for toe shoes after one more year.
My family all came back to our house after the recital for take-out fajitas and some good family togetherness. We had so much fun! We surprised the kids this weekend with a Wii Fit, the newest Wii craze. It is SO FUN! I’ll have to take some pictures soon to post. Even Nathan joined in the fun! It combines aerobic workouts, balance, yoga and strength training. Video games with a purpose. Gotta love that.
Here are a few pics from the recital:
