I’m Only One Woman

I ran into my friend Michelle today at Wal-Mart. “I’m tired of seeing the devotional,” she said. When am I going to post something new? she wanted to know.

Well, Michelle, here it is.

I can’t do it all. It’s that time of year, and I’m starting to get a little grumpy.

I know I promised I wouldn’t, but I am. Just a little bit. No real threat of canceling Christmas next year.

I just can’t seem to get it all done. I’m hoping my Christmas cards will be mailed by Easter. For all the non-gift giving we’re doing this year, I still have a lot to buy. Nothing is wrapped. Nothing is baked. Nothing is getting done. Yet I’m still running around all day without a minute to spare.

I’d love to post pictures of Griffin’s baptism, Meghan’s piano recital, and the Christmas party we went to tonight. I’d love to blog about the new CD I just bought (Merry Christmas to me!) that I L-O-V-E, and my thoughts on all the sweet little Texans who are complaining about the “cold” weather (here’s a hint: wear a scarf!) … but I just don’t have time. I can’t figure out how to fit it all in.

So you’re just going to have to wait a little while longer for a new blog entry. If I really love you, you’ll get my infamously hilarious Christmas letter soon. Or in April. At least I did get the letter written.

Oh, January, how I long for you!
